JewelCAD

JewelCAD is a 3D modelling software used for jewellery designing. It is called a CAD/CAM software since we can a create protoype (replica) of the design that you have made in the software. The ouput is in the form of resin (Plastic - photopolymer) which is directly castable.
The design made thus is with all the specific dimension required for a paricular setting. eg. - channel , prong , bezel , pave etc. Along with this the other parameters are also applied d according to the shape. For eg. in a ring the parameters are as follows:

• Inner Diameter 
• Outer Diameter
• Shank Thickness
• Center Height etc.

In this module we teach different types of settings and designs. .i.e

Rings, Earrings, Pendants, Bracelets, Bangles, Necklaces ..

Settings: Channel setting, Prong setting, Pave setting, Bezel setting, Flush setting etc. 

All designs are taught according to the manufacturing aspects of the design such that the designers are professionally trained from day one and they apply for a job as JewelCAD designer in any jewellery manufacturing firm.

The machines used in creating the output are called as RP machines - Rapid Prototyping machines and the output is called as RP output or CAM output - Computer Aided Machining output.
